Robin is a BAFTA-winning drama director with a unique voice rooted in the Scottish Highlands, telling stories focused on human connection with self, each other, and the land. She is a regular director of BBC Scotland’s River City, having directed over 40 episodes since being selected for the BBC New Directors’ Training Scheme. She has developed projects through Young Film Foundation, Short Circuit, EIFF’s Talent Lab Connects and the Cove Park Filmmaking Residency
Her Screen Academy Scotland graduation film Hula, starring Blythe Duff, won multiple awards including a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Drama, the Celtic Media Festival Torc Award for Short Drama, and the Glasgow Short Film Festival Scottish Audience Award, and toured the Highlands and Islands in the Screen Machine with Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. Her follow-up Slingshot, starring Sharon Small, was a Scottish Film Talent Network commission. Robin has been nominated twice previously for BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards; Best Director and Best New Work for her directorial debut Dear Dad. Her UK Film Council/Scottish Screen funded short Saltmark was nominated for Best Newcomer at Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.
Robin has been mentored by Douglas Mackinnon and Mairzee Almas through the Netflix sponsored Women in Film & TV Mentorship Scheme and is currently being mentored by Gareth Bryn through Directors UK Inspire.
