About

Robin is a BAFTA-winning Drama Director from the Scottish Highlands whose stories are rooted in human connection and the land. She is a regular director of BBC Scotland’s River City and is currently developing her feature Drovers Road with Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab Connects and Mischievous D.

Her Screen Academy Scotland graduation film Hula, starring Blythe Duff, won multiple awards including a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Drama, the Celtic Media Festival Torc Award for Short Drama, and the Glasgow Short Film Festival Scottish Audience Award, and toured the Highlands and Islands with the Screen Machine, proceeding Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. Her follow-up Slingshot, starring Sharon Small, was a Scottish Film Talent Network commission. Robin has been nominated twice previously for BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards; Best Director and Best New Work for her directorial debut Dear Dad. Her subsequent UK Film Council/Scottish Screen funded short Saltmark was nominated for Best Newcomer at Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.

Robin was recently mentored by Douglas Mackinnon and Mairzee Almas through the Netflix sponsored Women in Film & TV Mentorship Scheme. She has participated in the BBC Continuing Drama Directors' Training Scheme, Young Film Foundation, Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab and Cove Park Filmmaking Residency. She has several feature film and TV projects in development.
